People do comment that they have the white freesias growing outside here 
in England and Wales.>I have had the red/red spots form growing outside (and within paving alongside) the house for 10/15 years or so. Seeds everywhere there is a crack. I have recently (2 years) scattered seed along a gravel drive against a west facing wall. Seems happy and flowers as an annual and perennial. I think there are some white/red spot form in there too. The blue form/species is in full leaf in the unheated greenhouse now. I will scatter seed later as an experiment.
