My challenge this year has been skunks digging for grubs under the sod, which makes parts of the lawn look like it was roto-tilled. For some reason this is the first year they've done this so actively. The solution here is an insecticide, to eliminate the underground temptations.
For non-burrowing nuisances--deer, squirrels--aka f'ng tree rats--, rabbits, etc., I make a simple solution of rotten egg in water, which applied in small drops around potted plants, or applied to bits of paper and hung from branches, is surprisingly effective, and not too offensive to human senses. (1 raw egg blended in 2 liters of water, wait a week, voilÄ!)
