Dear Kathleen, Thank you for your note on hemi-parasitic plants. Do do you know of a source for blue fescue seeds. T & M used to carry it but not now. Joyce Miller, Gresham, Oregon Castillejas (paintbrushes) are hemi-parasites; some years ago a method was developed to grow these species from seed: Sow fescue (grass) seeds over a flat of potting soil, grow the grass so that it is well established (3-6 months), then sow Castilleja seeds among the fescue plants. If you know broomrape hosts, you could try a similar method.
