Travis, off-white seeds sound like unripe seeds to me. The seeds of garden peonies are usually dark when ripe - dark brown, dark gray-black. Were the pods from which you gathered the seed open? Or did you gather the closed seed pods and open them?Don't let those seed dry too much!Depth of planting is not critical as long as they are not too deep. One inch is fine, scattered on the surface with something tossed over them is fine. Jim McKenney
