forced germination of calochortus seed

I suppose everyone has been doing this for a century or more, but, if not, it looks like the forced germination technique works on calochortus seed, too.

It’s possible that the embryo is being forced out by hydrostatic pressure, but in that case, the seed can be squeezed and the embryo is forced out even farther, so I think this is actual germination. I squeezed the seed and the embryo stayed put. A second seed has done the same thing today.
