zip lock seed propogation

I'll jump in here - because I do this often with larger-seeded plants
(Cycads, Palms, and some fruits) - What I do is basically take my favored
growing medium, whichever that might be for you (Mine is Pro-Mix) - get it
to a slightly-moist texture, pop the seeds in - zip it, shake the bag a
little, so that the seeds are not just sitting on top of the soil - put it
"anywhere" and forget about it. (Bulbs are usually pretty fast to
germinate, so you'll just want to check it every 3-4 days.) On top of a
refrigerator, or a warmer area, out of the sun, is ideal.
I only do this with seeds that are stout once germinated - with
flimsy/delicate seeds, that can easily break if bothered, I prefer the
traditional methods - in a pot.
Best, Jude
