Along the same line, Cape species with our year round rainfall have a cosiderably longer season of growth than in California, Australia or S, Europe. It seems they keep a memory from the time the climate was more rainy and take advantage of it. Lachenalias, Tritonias and Oxalises are amazing in that they start rooting in mid summer when they are supposed to be sleeping due to the heat.Cyclamens do the samewithoutany harm to the plants.
