I'm really enjoying the flowering of Lycoris chinensis this week.When the scape first appeared and the buds began to emerge, they were white, greenish white. At that point I assumed that it was L. longituba. A day or two later, I thought I noticed a very vague flush of pale yellow. At that point I revised my opinion and decided it was one of the pale yellowish-white forms of L. longituba. The next day more yellow was evident, and I began thinking it was a longituba-chinensis hybrid. By the time the first flower began to open, it was obvious that the entire flower would be yellow.
