My first (and only) cross of Hippeastrum was H. parodii 'Germa' x H. 'Santa
Rosa'. I made the cross in 2010. I sent most of the seeds to the PBS BX
274 but I kept a few for myself and sowed them.

Here is the excerpt from that BX offering: "Seeds of Hippeastrum parodii '
Germa' (pod parent) x H. 'Santa Rosa' (pollen parent). Germa has tubular
yellow flowers. Santa Rosa has unusual white & red flowers with reddish
stems and dark red ovaries (when a pod parent)."

As of today I have 2 surviving plants, and the first one is now sending up
a bloom stalk. I'm stoked! :-) I'll share pics as soon as the bloom
opens up. I'm guessing 1 to 2 weeks.

Did anybody else grow my seeds and get any blooms yet? I'd love to see
your pics.

Loving it!
