It appears to me that the case here is a simple misinterpretation of where
the floral tube ends. In fact, it ends very close to the pseudostem. The
extra long floral tube is green, making it appear as if it were a pedicel.
Unfortunately, none of the many photos show the ovary attachment, but what
they do show is that the stigma is exerted and quite close to the pollen. I
will take my guess that this plant is moth pollinated.
