PBS on Facebook

Dear Friends,

There is already a PBS page on Facebook, but it is NOT under the auspices of the PBS officers or board. I brought this to the attention of the PBS months ago and they voted against any association. I believe PBS is missing a great opportunity to communicate about the world of bulbs to more people all over the world.

The current PBS Facebook page has a few pictures and some one has been posting recent numerous BX listings.

Facebook automatically makes a page when someone 'likes' the topic. So far over 150 people have 'liked' PBS on Facebook. Imagine the impact PBS could have if it cooperated with Facebook and brought an additional level of information to Facebook users. If properly handled a PBS Facebook page could integrate and expand on this on line forum as hundreds of other organizations already do.

This would probably require a PBS volunteer to coordinate Facebook activities and integrate them with the on line forum. Isn't this better than having a Facebook page without any cooperation?

I have been on Facebook for a while and constantly see more and more PBS members joining up on competing bulb pages. This is loosing valuable information and contacts for PBS.

I think it is time for PBS to get current and join the Facebook community and interact with a potentially huge audience.	Anyone want to vote on this ??

Hoping for the best for PBS AND Face book. Best Jim W.
