Folks,

If you're a species purist, you can move on to the next message.

I have my first new hybrid flower of the growing season. It's a cross
between Gladiolus priorii and G. guthrei (the former G. odoratus). Priorii
is bright tomato red, while guthrei is a weird mauve color but heavily
speckled and striped. Their offspring is a bronze-red color, with lots of
stripes and speckles. I think it's a nice flower, and it blooms in early
winter when few other bulbs are in bloom.
