Have you ever considered small rodents like field mice? Russ

Can we tell what is eating it just from the damage marks?
This morning is wet with thick fog so I searched for slugs and only
found one tiny, 2 mm long, slug 2 meters away from that bulb box.
Last night with a flashlight I found no slugs but saw one earwig.
Do earwigs eat flowers?

Remember mine were covered with 1/4 inch wire mesh when this herbivory
happened.
