Does anyone know an environmentally friendly way to get rid of Red Lily Bugs apart from hand picking them off the plants. They are sucking the soul out of my Fritillaria and lilies, which are sooooooo beautiful and fragrant. One bulb vendor from Virginia writes in their catalogue that wood ashes dusted all over the plants twice to three times at two-week intervals does the job; and I expect to try it this coming summer.
