Richard Doutt and lapeirousia enigmata

Richard Doutt's mail order nursery was great (40 species of Lachenalia
alone). I still have a few species of bulbs that I got from him; none were
virused, as far as I can tell. His book Cape Bulbs is well worth seeking
out. I look forward to the day when all books are electronic, and excellent
works like his no longer go out of print.

From his catalog -- Lapeirousia enigmata: Five inches. Flowers are cream
with distinct purple markings.

Jim Duggan Nursery, 1998 -- Lapeirousia enigmata: 5-7 inches, white flowers
having red lines in the throat and purple stamens.

(Note that Mr. Doutt sold Anomatheca (now Freesia) laxa as well, so it's not
that one.)

Hope that helps.
