Thank you!  I have always wondered about it.  I've heard that some people
cut their plants because they think it looks neater or is the "correct"
thing to do, but I have wondered what effect it had on the plant since the
leaves serve a purpose.

It is done to prevent wind toppling the newly planted divisions over. The
problem is that cutting back the foliage is not the best thing for the
