Alstroemeria question

Alstroemeria aurea/auriantica was hardy (to a fault) in Ithaca and Oswego,
NY (zone 5b, excellent snowcover in Oswego). The orange or red-orange
forms are great fun against a white house, but it runs, self-sows, and goes
dormant most gracelessly later in the season. Not recommended for small
spaces.
