Hi,

Perhaps it depends on how much winter rainfall these plants get as
they came back for me for years when I lived in an area where the
amount of rainfall was much less than it is where I now live. They
did not come back when I planted them out in my garden here. I
looked up and found that the average rainfall where I used to live
was 13.84 in (351.5 mm). During the time I planted it here our 15
year average was 65 in (1651 mm). The others in California who have
reported that these plants did well with winter rainfall get amounts
similar to my former garden. But it also is cooler here in summer and
perhaps they didn't get as much moisture as they might have wanted in
summer as I watered more in my old garden so other factors could be
at play. That was a very amazing photo from Nhu courtesy of Jacob.
