Do seeds continue to ripen/grow even after the capsule dehisces? The reason I am asking this question is that my Ismene produced several fruits this year. Some I harvested when the carpels split open; others I left in their split carpels until they freed themselves (the funicle abscised). I found the seeds in the second case had twice the diameter of those harvested earlier. All germinated, but the second set were much plumper after germination. David E.
