Hippeastrum papilio

All my Hippeastrums in the garden lose their leaves totally towards the 
end of the summer, are without leaves all winter. They develop scapes 
from early spring, and once thosestart wilting, the leavesgrow.

 From that I would deduce their rest period is winter, Jim.
