Phodophiala bifida or Oxblood Lily

Blood in cattle as in many animals is as could be expected, blood color. So far no case has been reported of a mammal or bird with blood. Oxen neither.

Oxblood lilies are those Rhodophiala bifida plants with blood red flowers. Pink ones set seed readily even with their own pollen.

Hence true Texan oxblood lilies do not set seed. Full circle.
