Perhaps Brandon, who wants to grow lilies in Trinidad, should know
that Lilium formosanum can become a pest in tropical climates. I
think it's even banned in some countries where it's well suited.

Edward McRae's book "Lilies" (Timber Press) has a long chapter on
Lilium species that offers plenty of information about these plants'
native habitats and preferences.
