This is an idea I have thought about in the past. Has there ever been
studies on which plants can be propagated from leaves or even segments of
leaves?. I had proposed heading a group at the Indoor Gardening Society in New
York years ago, but the idea fell through due to my health issues, It's
common knowledge that saintpaulias are candidates as well as rhizomatous
begonias and gesneriads. I accidentally found out that cinerarias also will
produce plantlets from a leaf when a leaf was buried during repotting.
Sansevierias I think also will grow a plant from a leaf. Any othe rplants out
there that can be listed? Is there a special botanical term for this type of
propagation ?
