Changing seasons

Bulbs are popping up all over despite cooler than typical weather. As a total surprise, while driving along a local highway near Astoria, Oregon, I spotted masses of Galanthus in flower, singles, with small green marks on the inner tepals. This bulb survived from the original garden site through dike and highway construction, and is now flourishing on the slope above a small pond along the highway. I'll be posting photos on my flickr site soon, and have no idea which Galanthus it is.

At home, several Galanthus bulbs sent last year by Jim W have sturdy leaves up, but no buds yet.

I envy Robin her Scoliopus, now past flowering. Mine are just putting up their first shoots.
