To get back to the culture of the 'summer-growing' Haemanthus (humilis, carneus and montanus): they normally stay dormant from midwinter to midsummer, rather odd. Leaves start to appear only in late December or January in the southern hemisphere, despite the summer rains starting 3-4 months earlier.
