Several names have come up in our discussion of 'Sulphur Queen'. Sam
Caldwell was known for his work with Lycoris. The natural hybrid, Lycoris
x-caldwellii, is named after Sam.

Len Woelfle worked with crossing Isemen amancaes with I. longipetala to
produce the "dancing dolls' hybrids. Woelfle also hybridized Sprekelia,
producing the cross Sprekelia ['Aztec Idol' x 'Superba'].

Alex Korsakoff also hybridized Sprekelia. Marcia Clint and her mother
(Brownsville, Texas) worked expensively with Rain Lilies, finding new
species and hybridizing.

There is a gold mine of information in back issues of HERBERTIA if we want
to dig it out.
