early summer CA geophytes

Dear bulbophiles,

Early summer in CA is a nice time to see all sorts of geophytic plants
blooming, particularly the Calochortus and themids. I have uploaded some
photos of Calochortus luteus growing and contrasting against a beautiful
dark form of Triteleia laxa. Have a look:

Also, on Ring Mountain in Marin County, Calochortus tiburonensis bloomed
nicely (although by this point all have faded). There were not as many
blooming plants this year as last year and I suspect that invasive grasses
had an edge due to the high amount of rainfall.
