Hoax

For future reference, I once bought something on eBay from a soldier who was back on leave from Iraq and was selling flyers he said had been dropped over Baghdad to warn residents of the American occupation that was about to take place.

While waiting for delivery -- and this entire transaction cost less than $25 including postage -- I got an email from eBay that the transaction had been cancelled by them because it was against some policy regarding war memorabilia.

But I had already paid for this memorabilia, via PayPal.  I went online, and there was an option that apparently had been there for more or less sucking the money back out of the bank account of the person you paid already.  There was a generic explanation box taht included "transaction cancelled".  So I checked that and sure nuf  my money was returned.

Much to my surprise, a few days later, the package of fliers arrived.  I got no word from the soldier I bought them from, and feel guilty to this day - although these could have been Xeroxed off any color copy machine.  So I don't know if they were real.  But I do know that I considered seizing my money back again a few years ago after a French tutor cancelled my daughter's lessons but insisted on keeping the money if I did re-schedule her.  Legally and ethically, she had no right to do that, but if she continued to be uncooperative, I was ready to take my Paypal refund.

So in the future, remember, this is one of the benefits of paying via Paypal.  I have had more trouble with Visa and Mastercard.

Tomas?  Re this ongoing Dana Harris matter--Did she ever get the money you sent?  If I remember, you did send it via PayPal--  does it show up as having been delivered to her in your accounts?  I'd write to PayPal and ask if you have any other recourse.  You had 45 days from the time of discovering the problem, not from having sent the money,as I understand it.

Hi,

No solution no bulb yet and now it is a very long time since I paid the 232.00 USD to Dana Harris it was the 25 of April this year and after my first mail to the PBS list she sent a reply the same day and promised me to send the bulb but as I have written no bulb has arrived yet and no money in refund.

And Dana´s mail should not be "hi jacked" now because if it has been she should definitely be aware of that now.
I have also checked her mail replys to me and they are sent from the University she works at via the IP number!

So this lady has "stolen" 232.00 USD from me and she reply on my mail with very odd questions as what I mean etc?
If Ellen Hornig see this mail, please try to fix this matter for me not fun to loose such much of money at Ebay and a second chance.

I'm not happy at all, I'm very angry over this as you understand and I don't think that anyone of you should be happy if this happened to you....

Off topic maybe but effective to use this list even for matters like this, it might works as a warning of what people to avoid when buying / trading plants!

Best
