Dear Ellen, Yes, thank you, I googled it..... just did not think to do so straightaway. I have two different ones, a very heavy two bladed one which almost looks like a halberd (hellebarde, a medieval weapon, too heavy for ladies..... smile) which I use to uproot roots and the like and a lighter one which I use for weeding. I would not use either one to try to dig up deep or very deep bulbs as I cannot really get down deep enough without destroying. Anyway, I have an idea what it is, and the subject is almost off topic...... Uli
