I grew Iris vartanii ‘Alba’ long ago when it was inexpensive and readily
available for several years. This was probably back in the 1960s or 1970s.

New bulbs always bloomed, but the plants were frail and did not persist as
garden plants. That I even tried it as a garden plant is a good indication
of how naïve I was about these plants back then. It was a winter growing
plant and the foliage suffered during alternate freezes and thawing.
