Zantdeschia hardiness

When I was in Lesotho in winter 2007-8, I collected a lot of seed from a fairly-high-altitude population of Z. albomaculata. The highest-altitude plants we saw were all, unfortunately, "immaculata" - and without the spots, it's a pretty plain thing (the spots, BTW, are actually little "windows", not white spots).

I've planted a number of the resulting crop out in my gardens, and plan to get a lot more out there, the hope being that I will have turned up a population of reliably cold-hardy plants. Time will tell.
