Re moncarpic (not) A. virginica, etc --- And aren't Kniphofia and Bromeliads on the same kind of schedule? I guess somehow, I "learned" that the terms annual, biennial, perennial were to be applied only to dicots. Monocots have such different arrangements for flowering--and if one gets into orchids where the male and female flowers can look so different--well...
