*"Does anyone know how liriosme is distinguished from latifolila in
reality?*
*unless liriosme tolerates more water st its roots?*"

This may be helpful:

I would consider C. liriosme more water tolerant because it will grow year
round with its roots submersed while H. latifolia does not seem to like it
that wet year round though it can be quite tolerant of partial submersion
during active growth. Of course if both can be grown much drier as well. H.
liriosme is semi-glaucous medium green foliage that is generally less than a
inch wide, while H. latifolia is usually over an inch wide glossy dark
green. There are several other differences to separate these two from one
another but that does not necessarily mean the characters won't over lap
with other species in the genus.Alani
