English Iris

Dear Friends,
I belive we have had a discussion on English Iris before, but
my mind may have wandered.
Years ago I grew a few bulbs from a Dutch source and recall
they were heavily virused and/ or weak growers.

Two years ago I got some big healthy looking bulbs and they
have done well. The second bloom season has just begun with "Mont
Blanc' opening its first white flower. I believe the other one I grow
is 'King of the Blues'. There's a few other named varieties around.

These are related to Dutch and Spanish Iris and like them
originate on the Iberian Peninsula (Spain & Portugal), but these have
flourished in the damper climate of England.

Can anyone suggest a good source for more varieties? Does
anyone hybridize for these things? I know there's a somewhat common
pink cv although I can't recall the name. I'll bet the Royal Dutch
Bulb Soc has registered many cvs that typically are not in commerce.

Appreciate any leads on these exquisite summer blooming bulbs.

	Thanks	Jim W.
