Hi everyone,

I have created a new page for the Iris leaf miners that was a recent topic
in this forum. Jan Agoston contributed the images on these flies.

The weather was warm one weekend this May so I spent a good amount of time
in the garden which is mostly a collection of miscellaneous geophytes in
pots. In only a couple of hours during the warmest part of the day, I caught
4 Narcissus bulb flies! Imagine my shock to find so many flies buzzing
around, trying to lay eggs. The worst part is that there are probably many
more buzzing around while I'm not around. But at least I caught 4 that day
(plus one from another day) so have prevented 500 potential eggs from being
laid.
I decided to mount these specimens up and took photographs of them for the
wiki. You can see the photos in the already established wiki page for this
insect pest.
