At the risk of beating this thread to death, the very best converter I've found so far is Google. Type in almost anything in the search bar - "45 C in F", "1000 cal in BTU", "100 $ in Euro" - and hit enter. Google really won my heart when just for fun - having once been an engineering student - I typed in "c in furlongs per fortnight" and they returned "the speed of light = 1.8026175 × 10**12 furlongs per fortnight".
