finding bulbs in the strangest place

I found an Iris seedling growing in my lawn a few days ago about 12
inches from a brick edged flower bed. The only nearby irises are Iris
foetidissima. I plan to let it grow in situ and see what happens.
(I'll mow around it.)

PS: Oh, and I had some tulips come up between some fieldstones I laid
down for my sidewalk. I have no recollection how they got there, but
they're young and still haven't bloomed yet. Well, maybe this spring.
