Unsubscribing and AOL

Hi,

We've been asked by ibiblio to send a message to our list aimed at AOL
subscribers. It appears that there are AOL subscribers on our list who
either wish to unsubscribe or who have marked some of the list messages as
spam. If AOL receives a certain number of these kind of messages they will
block all messages to AOL subscribers sent from ibiblio. Ibiblio messages
were blocked by Comcast and Yahoo in the past and each time it took a lot
of effort and time on the part of list administrators, ibiblio and
subscribers from those groups to straighten it out. We don't wish to have
to do that with AOL.

Every message that each of you get includes a way to unsubscribe from this
list at the top of the message. For those people getting individual
messages it is listed as:
List-Unsubscribe: <http://www.pacificbulbsociety.org/list.php>,
         <mailto:pbs-request@lists.ibiblio.org?subject=unsubscribe>

Those people getting the digest it says:
To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit
         http://www.pacificbulbsociety.org/list.php
or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to
         pbs-request@lists.ibiblio.org

You can reach the person managing the list at
         pbs-owner@lists.ibiblio.org

It's really very easy. You either go to our list address and go to the
bottom of the page, enter the name you are subscribed under and press
enter. It takes you to a screen where you can unsubscribe, get a password
reminder, or change options. Alternately you can just click on the mailto
link that sends an email asking to unsubscribe. At the bottom of the list
page it also lists the email addresses of the list administrators: Diane
Whitehead, Arnold Trachtenberg, and myself. If you click on one of our
addresses you can send us a message asking to unsubscribe you. Or you can
send a message to pbs-owner@lists.ibiblio.org which will come to the three
of us. We of course would prefer for you to do it yourself as this is the
quickest way, but are willing to do it for you if you can't figure it out.

So if someone from AOL wants to leave this group PLEASE follow these
directions and DO NOT respond to the whole group. Thanks.

Mary Sue
