That's really interesting. I've added hair to my compost for years and tried it around plants as a mulch, but I had read that it might deter critters. Don't think it does that but I'll keep adding now that there are other proven benefits. I have a friend who works at a hair shop so I have access to all the hair I want. I always wondered though if it shouldn't be untreated hair being added, not bleached, died, processed and so on. Thanks for sharing that. Linda in Okotoks, AB Canada
