I read that a California experimental station, back when the government funded them, grew 10,000 seedlings of a shrub from somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere, and the ones that survived and thrived are now some of the commonest landscaping plants in California. I can't remember the genus - maybe something like Grevillea. So Jim, cutting back is not the answer. Wild expansion is the way to go. How many acres do you have? Diane Whitehead
