I should like to know your expert opinion on the origin of our cultivated tulips ( excluding fosteriana and gregii/kaufmanniana hybrids). The main question is are they derived from a single or from more species. It is harsh to say but there is not much use in rewriting what has been published in old herbals starting with Clusius I did read them nearly all. However a new fresh thought based on observations would be most welcome. Ben Zonneveld
