AS a second hand experience,
The only time I have seen Proiphys amboinensis growing well
was as an understory to bananas in the Missouri Botanical Garden's
Climatron, a huge very tropical greenhouse complex. There it was
blooming and seem to be spreading. I doubt it ever goes below 50
degrees F ( likely never gets much below 60) and is kept well watered
with high humidity. Considering its tropical origins this seems
fitting. Any season chill below this seems ill advised.
