Ornithogalum thyrsoides(?)

Roger asked about some Ornithogalum bulbs starting to grow in his garden.

I don't know if this will help, Roger, but the bulbs of O. arabicuim are
much larger than those of O. thyrsoides. Those of O. arabicum are the size
of smallish garden hyacinths; those of O. thyrsoides are the size of fat
Chionodoxa.

Also, if those bulbs had been here in Maryland, the O. thyrsoides would have
started into growth in August (even if they were still blooming from spring
planted bulbs). I have no idea what winter survivors would do because I've
never known this one to survive the winter here.
