It looks quite pretty, but the Gladiolus book says most of its habitat is disappearing. It also blooms early in the rainy season meaning in places like mine the rain would probably get it. I also added pictures of a new species from Cameron, G. vaginatus. There are additional habitat pictures of Gladiolus virescens and a habitat picture of G. tristis from taken in 2003. Before I started growing bulbs seriously Gladiolus were some of my favorites. I don't seem to be able to go back however as like Max I really like the species I grow much better than the ones that have been manipulated. Mary Sue
