Tulip mystery

I'd bet on rabbits. They keep hoping they'll get one (a tulip) that
tastes good. I've seen them do this to Siberian Iris and new growth on
rose bushes, etc. When they get me sufficiently annoyed, they have an
accident with small bits of rapidly moving lead. The rabbits do taste
good. See Julia Child's "Lapin au sopiquet".

There's been a rabbit in the garden the past few nights, and I'm getting
on towards annoyed.
