After reading Ken's description of his Oregon growing conditions for American lilies, I checked Rainbow Francom's website, as I have ordered seeds of garden-grown bolanderi from her. She lives in Middletown, California, which is near Mt. St. Helena, near the Napa Valley, north of San Francisco. I hope that garden-grown difficult plants are ones that have self- selected to be more tolerant of garden conditions, and will therefore be a bit easier to grow.
