Is the Crystal Gardens right downtown? Fairly close to a convention center? There is also a very good museum there, and if you would like, you can walk along the water and find a big concrete jetty. Walk all the way out to the end and then come back to shore and have a great breakfast or lunch at the restaurant there (nice but not too fancy). I really have to find my notes!
