Nerine/Lycoris-I'm so confused!

Referring to the key to genera in the Amaryllidaceae in "The European 
Garden Flora", Vol. I, p. 293, we find that the essential difference 
between Lycoris and Nerine is:  


27 a  "ovules 1-3 in each cell of the ovary"

	Griffinia, Lycoris, Haemanthus, and Scadoxus


27 b  "ovules 4 or more in each cell of the ovary"

	Crinum, Clivia, Brunsvigia, Nerine, and Amaryllis
