I held a CITES permit for cyclamen for about 3 years so I could ship to Canada. Because I didn't separate out wild-collected seed from other cyclamen seed in a very specific way, I had to renew it every 6 months. Holding the permit allowed me to ship cyclamen, many of which are on one of the CITES lists. I had to provide detailed information about where I got seed, how I propagated, and how I grew on the plants, complete with photographs and diagrams and descriptions of the nursery, beds, growing media, etc.

Requirements may have changed as this has been several years ago... Also, it was clear that I wasn't digging up wild plants in their native habitat.
