Kelly Irvin wrote with respect to planting Lycoris squamigera "Remember to
plant with the neck just below soil level."

I think I've asked the group this question in the past, but I don't remember
getting much of a response.

Are there any data to suggest that a particular planting depth is best for
Lycoris? In particular, are Lycoris like peonies in that if planted too
deeply (or too shallowly) they will not bloom?

I have old, scattered plantings of Lycoris squamigera in my garden; some
bloom, some don't. I have no idea why.
